Clare Nash

Senior Nurse ,Clinical Procurement and Productivity Programmes
The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust

Clare qualified as a nurse in 1993, and has spent most of her clinical career in critical care. She has led a number of local and regional quality improvement programmes and now works at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust as a senior nurse in clinical procurement and productivity programmes. Clare was the lead on the clinical engagement and implementation of “SafeHands”. This real-time locating system is used by the Trust to track patients, staff and equipment, and the live data feeds into a capacity management suite for patient flow and safety giving the Trust a truly real-time bed state. She is currently in the final year of studying for a Masters in Advancing Practice at the University of Worcester, focusing on staff perceptions of being tracked at work and the influence on system acceptance. She has very little spare time to do anything else, as is also married and has a teenage daughter, but tries to fit in a run, a dog walk, and a good sauvignon blanc where she can!
